It Happened Today…

i was just sitting around thinking how big of a day the 4th of July is and it made me wonder about today. was there anything special about today that has been overlooked because we’re still thinking about two days ago? so i took it upon myself to do a little research about good ole July 6th and this is what i came up with:

  • 1189-Richard the 1st (Richard the Lionheart) is crowned King of England
  • 1560-The Treaty of Edinburgh is signed by Scotland and England
  • 1609-Bohemia is granted freedom of religion
  • 1785-The dollar is unanimously chosen as the monetary unit for the United States
  • 1939-Holocaust: the last remaining Jewish enterprises in Germany are closed
  • 1947-The AK-47 goes into production in the Soviet Union
  • 1957-John Lennon and Paul McCartney first meet at St. Peter’s Church garden fete in Liverpool, England
  • 2006-The Nathula Pass betweem India and China, sealed during the Sino-Indian War, re-opens for trade after 44 years

so there you have it. a few good ones but mostly stuff nobody’s heard of.

yes it’s true. i have upgraded my phone. i now have the capability to blog, pay bills, twitter, check emails, listen to music, watch videos, keep in touch with anyone and much more through my new iPhone. now before you jump and shout….it’s not the NEW new one. the “old” ones are now only $99. i jumped on that like the guy at the arcade playing Dance Dance Revolution for hours at a time. anyway, i haven’t blogged in a long time so i figured i should blog about this…
